Bring traditional / classic, art deco star / sunburst, lattice / grid detail to smooth indoor glass with Victoria Window Film. This PVC window film uses adhesive-free static cling and lets light through.

Appearance note: The film looks darkest while the backing liner is attached. It appears lighter after the liner is removed and lighter again after installation on glass because transmitted light contributes to its appearance. Perceived color also changes under different lighting, so the film on its backing liner is not a reliable reference for the final installed look.

Privacy note: Victoria Window Film provides moderate visual obscuring, but it is not high, complete, blackout, or 100% privacy. Privacy changes with viewing distance and lighting, and brighter indoor nighttime lighting can make the room more visible from outside.

Where to Use It

Designed for indoor use in homes, offices, and retail spaces on flat, smooth glass windows, glass doors, and similar glass surfaces. It is not suitable for frosted, textured, embossed, or uneven glass.

In bathrooms, install the film only on the outer, dry side of the glass, away from direct shower water and body wash. Do not use it inside a shower enclosure, in areas exposed to prolonged direct spray, or where it may be immersed.

How to Install

Clean the glass thoroughly. Rough-cut the film with about 1.2-2 in (3-5 cm) of extra material around the edges, then wet the glass generously with plain water. Remove the backing liner, wet the smooth cling side, and position it on the glass. Squeegee water and air from the center outward, trim the excess, and leave about a 1/8-3/16 in (3-5 mm) gap between the film and the window frame or glass sealant. Finish with a second squeegee pass and wipe the area dry.

Care, Removal, and Reuse

Wipe the exposed surface with a wet wipe or cloth. Avoid excessive water, and try to keep water and dirt from reaching the cling side through the edge gaps.

To remove the film, lift a corner or edge and peel it slowly from the glass. Because it uses adhesive-free static cling, normal removal from an approved flat, smooth glass surface does not leave sticky adhesive residue. The film can be used a second time if the cling side stays clean and free of dust and oil.

For storage, place the smooth side of the film against the smooth side of the original backing liner and roll them together. If the cling side becomes dirty, clean it with a wet wipe or soapy water and let it air-dry before reuse.

Planning for More Than One Roll

When multiple rolls are installed side by side, exact edge-to-edge alignment is not guaranteed. Roll start positions may vary, and on-site trimming or adjustment may be needed.

Special glass: Before installing on double-pane, insulated, or Low-E coated glass, consult the glass manufacturer. FancyFix does not guarantee compatibility with every product in these glass categories.

Nine steps. One afternoon.

Static-cling film goes on with plain water — no glue. Each package includes 1 roll of window film, 1 squeegee, and 1 instruction sheet.

  1. Clean the glass. Thoroughly clean the entire application area, especially the edges next to the window frame or glass sealant. Spray on a cleaning liquid such as soapy water or a dish-soap solution, then use a cloth or squeegee to remove dust and dirt.
  2. Measure and make the initial cut. Cut the film to the measured glass size, leaving about 1.2–2 in (3–5 cm) of extra material around the edges for trimming later.
  3. Wet the glass thoroughly. Generously spray plain water over the entire glass surface until the water runs down. Thoroughly wet the edges too.
  4. Remove the backing liner and wet the cling side. Peel off the backing liner and spray water on the smooth cling side of the film so it can slide into position.
  5. Position the film. Place the smooth cling side against the glass and adjust the film. If it is not positioned correctly on the first try, lift it off and apply it again.
  6. First squeegee pass. Spray water over the installed film so the squeegee glides smoothly. Use the included squeegee to push water and air bubbles from the center outward toward all edges.
  7. Trim the excess and leave a gap. Trim off the excess film, leaving about 1/8–3/16 in (3–5 mm) between the film edge and the window frame or glass sealant. Do not let the film edge rest on the frame or sealant.
  8. Second squeegee pass. Squeegee from the center outward again to remove the remaining water and air bubbles so the film makes full contact and clings securely.
  9. Wipe dry. Use a dry cloth or paper towels to wipe water off the installed film and the surrounding area.

Before you buy

Is removable window film easy to take off without residue?

Yes. No-glue static cling window film is easy to apply and remove. It is window-safe and leaves no sticky residue.

Is FancyFix static-cling window film renter-friendly and reusable?

Yes. FancyFix static-cling window film can be removed from smooth, clean glass without sticky residue and repositioned during installation. It may be reused when both the film and glass are kept clean and dust-free. Some FancyFix products are adhesive-backed, so check the application type on the product page before ordering.

Why does the film look darker before installation?

The window film has a backing layer before application, so the color may appear deeper before it is peeled and placed on glass. After installation, light passing through the glass makes the final effect look clearer and closer to the product images.

What is the difference between static-cling and adhesive window film?

Static-cling film uses no glue, is easier to reposition and remove, and is usually the better choice for renters or seasonal décor. Adhesive film creates a stronger bond and is suited to longer-term installations, but it is less forgiving and usually not reusable. FancyFix identifies the application method on each product page.

Where can the window film be used?

It can be applied to smooth, clean glass surfaces such as windows, doors, and glass partitions. Avoid using it on frosted, uneven, greasy, or dusty surfaces to ensure proper adhesion.
